Veteran broadcaster, podcaster, former stockbroker, champion of Irish business
Over the last decades I have interviewed probably over 4,500 businesses. My ‘Rolodex’ is rather large. If I don’t know someone, I know someone who does.

Business is my passion, but I also have so many other interests e.g. I was full-time UCD Students’ Union President.
In UCD I published Ireland’s biggest selling student newspaper.
In RTE I presented nationwide live TV programmes including Countrywide, Newstime and Newsnight.
I created RTE’s first business news slot.
I pitched for radio licenses for national and local radio stations. I founded a local newspaper (The Athlone Voice).
I am a trained to BBC standards as a TV producer/director. I was a director of Esras Films (formerly Radharc Films) and have made broadcast TV documentaries.
I was a director of Riada (subsequently ABN AMRO) Stockbrokers where I was their No.1 equity salesperson.
I taught finance/markets in DCU.
Goldman Sachs asked me to lead all communications for the successful €3bn purchase by the Tony O’Reilly led Valentia Consortium of Eircom in a year-long bidding war. On behalf of my client, I learnt what the Eircom ESOP (holders of 15% of the shares and the de facto ‘kingmakers’) wanted, that guaranteed a successful bid, despite our bid being of a lower monetary value than that of our opposition.
I presented Today FM’s most successful Sunday programme, The Sunday Business Show, for thirteen years. I continue to contribute to RTE, RnaG, BBC NI, Newstalk, TG4 on economic and business issues.
Our business, The Media Group, is building a stable of podcasts beyond our two existing podcasts (business and legal). We can create world class podcasts on any subject.
I am a paid counsel/adviser to several leading business leaders. I have a massive interest in current affairs globally. We are building deep roots into Connecticut USA, to use that State as a launch location for Irish companies setting up in the USA.
I MC events very regularly. I hosted the Global Ireland Economic Forum, and I am a regular with ISME, the LEO’s, various Third Level colleges etc.
