Ályth McCormack & Tríona Marshall invite you to view life (problem solving and teambuilding) through a creative, musical lens.
“From the heartland of Ireland to the shores of the Island of Lewis off the Scottish coast, Tríona Marshall and Ályth McCormack have created a beautiful blend of harp music and song. This brilliant recording encompassing a varied range of Celtic traditions shows just how closely related our music and songs are and where their development and growth can lead. Tríona and Ályth came together, having toured with The Chieftains over the years, and have now created a magical duet for all to enjoy.” PADDY MOLONEY – The Chieftains

Ályth and Tríona’s unique pairing developed touring worldwide with The Chieftains and performances with Ry Cooder, Carlos Núñez, Loreena McKennitt, Kris Kristofferson, astronauts Catherine ‘Cady’ Coleman and Chris Hadfield and guests like President Michael D. Higgins, President Mary MacAleese, President Mary Robinson and most recently President Joe Biden on his visit to Ireland in Ballina, Co. Mayo. Ályth and Tríona have performed at Festivals such as Celtic Connections, Blas, Tonder, Dranouter, Paimpol, Celtic Colours and the Festival Interceltique de Lorient. Ályth, known for having a voice of ‘great purity and beauty’, is ‘artfully’ complimented by Tríona’s ‘sweet’ yet ‘stunning’ harp playing, guaranteed to move any listener.
In 2018, Tríona experienced debilitating overuse injuries in both her hands, which initiated a long but transformative journey to recovery. This experience left her with a unique perspective on pain. With this perspective and a musician’s understanding of the mind, the body, and the emotional environment they inhabit, she aims to support others. Ályth has been interested in yoga and meditation for many years; during covid, she took the opportunity to focus on this passion and completed her yoga teacher training. She has been teaching yoga since March 2022, and as she understands the benefits of singing and music, she includes music and song in all her yoga classes. She believes all humans are creative, and by focusing our attention inward, we can further tap into our creativity.
Ályth and Tríona offer a creatives’ perspective on listening for and receiving inspiration. How vulnerability can help increase confidence and while maintaining individual identity, you can work together effectively and find creative solutions to problem-solving.
